	Welcome to The Daybreak Scheme Homepage This website was set up to inform anyone interested in the Daybreak Scheme of what we are about and what we are trying to achieve.
What is the Daybreak Scheme The scheme was set up in 1982 by the parents of children with severe learning disabilities who were asked what would improve the lives of their special needs children. The parents were all in full agreement in their response that a school holiday activity scheme would benefit the whole family as well as giving the children a fun and stimulating day. Fundraising The scheme is currently underwritten by Chelmsford Mencap, however, because they also rely on 'pennies in the pot' there is no guarantee how long this can continue.
